New Box for Cake, Unfortunately new Cake is Lousy

The Golden Cake (yellow with chocolate frosting) used to be like air, fluffy with weird but tasty frosting. It seems the cake is now doughy or chewy, not light. The frosting has changed from light to darker brown on the outside, but the same light in the layers. Not a good experience, maybe time to give up on the strange freezer cake that my daughter used to beg me to buy. Alas, another memory for her childhood. The cake just is so lackluster. The additional cocoa in the frosting does not improve the taste and not sure why the cake needed to be "improved".

For years my entire family has loved these frozen coconut cakes. I have introduced this cake to so many people - it has always been so light and incredibly delicious. I have no idea what they have done or why really. It is GROSS. The cake is heavy and very dense and...

Our family has been a fan of Pepperidge Farm products for many years. Little by little their product line is changing, and not for the better. Their English muffins have a strange texture that is almost impossible to slice in half (or pull apart) without making a...

Pepperidge Farm Bread Review

I love making tea sandwiches and PF is the only product I have seen in the supermarket. Unfortunately even though I love PF products, the thin slices are a disaster -- they fall apart right out of the package. I tried refrigerating the bread, toasting the bread but nothing really works. Worthless product. Doesn't PF test their products also after it is on the supermarket shelf?

Where are you shopping that three different pepperidge farm products are out of date? A discount store? Check the dates next time and don't be ridiculous you and your family did not get sick from cookies and crackers.

Pepperidge Farm - Cake Review from Norman, Oklahoma
My husband loves German Chocolate cake. We bought one in the frozen food section today and let it set out in the box for about an hour. I cut a couple slices and my husband ate it and said it tasted funny. I ate a small slice and thought it tasted odd too. We turned...

I agree with the other reviewers regarding the store vs. the brand, but to be honest I wouldn't really expect much from a packaged, frozen cake in the first place.

PEPPERIDGE FARM CINNAMON SWIRL

Will never buy this dry tasteless "cinnamon" bread again. Short changing the consumer is not a good tactic. No cinnamon, just brown streaks in all the cinnamon varieties. Bread does not toast properly, it burns and crumbles. I remember the bread from when I was child-it had thick sweet savory mounds of cinnamon and brown sugar that melted when the heat hit it- a real tasty treat. The outside was encrusted with goodness. Like so many products nowadays-huge profit margins, cheap inexpensive artificial ingredients, drastic decrease in size and amounts have made so many products not worth buying. I make much of my own food and now will learn to make my own bread. I make my own pie crust which is so easy and with real food ingredients, not plastic and other synthetic chemicals. I make my own laundry soap, body oils, Chinese food, and more. Unprecedented greed, lack of pride, and outsourcing are killing this country.

I totally agree that Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Swirl Bread is dry and tasteless, I always buy Sunmaid Cinnamon Raisin Bread. But, due to the Pandemic, and hoarding shoppers, my store can't keep Sun-Maid in Stock.

So I had to buy PF Cinnamon Swirl. I'll be glad when my store has Sun Maid again.

First of all, you can't make a peanut butter sandwich without putting mayo on one piece of the bread!

Farmhouse oatmeal bread

I recently purchased a loaf of your Farmhouse oatmeal bread to find it extremely dry and crumbly and also molded within 3 days, even though the date was 4 more days til expiration. Can you explain please. Needless to say I was not very pleased with this purchase. The sku # 0141000****. I have purchased Pepperidge Farm loaves of bread before and never found this to be true. And your breads are definitely rather expensive compared to others. and what is the reason for having to enter at least 100 words? Really rather odd. I will be waiting to hear your response. Thank you.

Why have you sliced the bread thinner? Did you think it would go unnoticed? My neighbors and I all use this brand of bread for years and it has been the topic of conversation with your recent change in the slicing thickness. Well we all notices this and it's getting...

Part of it is money saving for the company, part of it is that many consumers now want thinly sliced bread due to low carb diet or whatever. I'm sorry you're disappointed.

You know, I feel the same way when the slices are so thin.

I like mine thicker sliced as well, but you either switch brands or make your own. Good luck fellow bread lover.

I'm so disappointed too. Our Shoprite in NJ stopped carrying the Carb Style bread too.

I have looked in other stores, but NO luck finding it. Pepperidge Farms do you still make it??? I don't like the light bread as it still has more carbs!!!

(We have to watch our Carbs & Sugar)

Where can I buy it if you still make it??

Cherry Turnovers without Cherries

Purchased two packages of Pepperidge Farm Cherry Turnovers at Big Y. Pictures of whole cherries on front of carton. Opened cartons and turnovers are at least 20% smaller than last years. Baked the two cartons and the turnovers are definitely smaller. Had one and sensed I didn't encounter a cherry. Butterflied the remaining seven turnovers, including second box. I could not find a single cherry in sight. Probed around in the "goo" and the best I could find was a small piece, less than a quarter of a cherry. This is a consumer rip off! Called three times and left messages each time. Pepperidge Farm did not return any of my calls. If you want cherry goo turnovers, these are for you. :-(

False Claim

I purchased the Sausalito cookies at my local store and they were incredibly stale. I called Pepperidge Farm expecting to have the bag replaced but they sent me a coupon for 50 cents off a $5 purchase. I would have to buy 2 bags to get 50 cents off.The company says it has a product guarantee but that is false, they guarantee nothing. I will NEVER buy Pepperidge farm again. They do not stand behind their product. To send me a coupon instead of replacing the defective product is a slap in the face. Forcing me to buy more product just to use the coupon is unbelievable. Pepperidge Farm just wants to sell poor product and not back it up.

50 cents off a $5 purchase? WOW.

Pure cheapos.

If I contact Pepsi they replace the product x 6. Sad by this great company.

#999308

Not a false claim. This actually happened.

We were at a swim meet up north and I was not dragging around gross cookies the whole trip.

I noted the package information and tossed them. If I was home, I would have returned them.

#999256

Why not take the product back to the store you bought it? You gave your money to the store not PF.

If you want a refund talk to the store. They will give you your money back and then get their money back from PF.
