Pepperidge Farm Cake Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I love the coconut cake, until I recently bought one. I was disappointed with the cake. The frosting has changed and now lacks the coconut flavor. The frosting size between the layers is skimpy and the cake has no flavor. Please change the recipe back, so myself and others can enjoy the coconut cake again.

Pineapple cake where is it?

where is the pineapple cake Pepperridge farm made for awhile? I loved it!

I want more! I bought a pineapple cake made by pepperridge farm and it was so good. I wish i had bought all the store had. What has happened to it?

Has it been discontinued? Please make it again even if its seasonal such as hristmas and Easter. My sister in law has been looking for it too and she can't find it. Its like we are addictd.

I bought one at Krogers maybe 5 years ago and haven't seen them since. All the other flavors are good too but the pineapple was so delicious and wonderful.

I make pineapple cake but it is nothing like the one pepperridge farm makes. Please help me find this pineapple cake

Pepperidge Farm - Coconut Cake Review

Why in the world would you change the recipe of this delicious cake?? I haven't bought the coconut layer cake in a couple of years but it was by far the best frozen store bought cake my husband and I have ever tasted.

Webeach had one piece and realized the recipe changed. It was so bad that I threw out the remainder of the cake.

So disappointing. Bring back the old recipe, please!!

I am so glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I keep trying to see if it was just a mistake but they surely aren't as good now.

I use to race home for the last piece but now I find myself throwing most of it out! Too bad!

I’m throwing mine out too!! Such a disappointment and waste.

I was so excited to sink my fork into this cake tonight. It’s not worth the calories anymore.

Great job whomever decided to change perfection you should be fired! I’ve been eating this same cake since the 70’s and you thought we wouldn’t notice??

What happened! I'll never purchase this brand again. It was such a fine product for many years. Such a disappointment. Pepperidge Farm now stands with the cheap brands. Yuck.

Pepperidge Farm puffed pastry and Cornbread stuffing Mix

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Pepperidge Farm Puffed Pastry sheets have been a favorite staple of mine for years. They were not only attractive component of appealing dishes and easy to use, but added a rich flavor to desserts and savory items.

Recently each time I use it I am disappointed in what I believe to be a change in the recipe used to make the pastry. It tastes as thought there is less fat used and possibly less salt. The pastry is now flavorless, tough and leaves the residue of cheap fat in my mouth. I am very disappointed in the lowered quality.

Similarly, I have always made a deliberate effort to Pepperidge Farm cornbread stuffing mix.

It too now has a less distinctive taste and lower quality when I can find it. It is now 1.) difficult to find reliably no matter what the season; and 2.) missing the quality and depth of flavor that used to make it worth spending extra effort to locate.

I liked Pepperidge Farm's turnovers, I haven't bought them in years due to the price increases. I decided to treat myself and bought a box of the Raspberry Turnovers.

The box was the same size as before, but I knew immediately upon opening it that something was very different. I took out the turnover, amazed at how small it was. I baked it thinking perhaps it would get bigger as it baked. Nope, it didn't happen.

It is approximately 1/4 of the size they used to be ( possibly less). I won't buy them again because like Pepperidge Farm.........I remember.

P. Farm has sold out

Recently bought the box of variety cookies after some time of not having purchased them, and was shocked at the product. I agree with other commenters regarding the shrinking of product and the lower quality ingredients now used. It's not the old Pepperidge Farm at all any more. It's not the only company doing this; squeezing short-term profit out of customers and letting the brand sink and ultimately lose customers is happening all over. I guess the CEOs want to make a quick buck and run off with their golden parachutes. But customers, workers, and in the long run, investors are the losers.

Moldy Bread

I Bought some Pepperidge Farm Sprouted bread. We have a small store near us that sales the close dated bread at $1.25 per loaf. When I came home from the store I put it in the freezer so that it will keep fresh. I had enjoyed several slices out of the freezer . It tasted very good toasted,. until the bread was almost gone. I went to grab a piece and noticed that one of the slices had blue mold on it. YUCK!! Guess I won't be buying anymore of this bread. The thought of eating mold scares me and makes me want to *** I am dissapointed because the bread seemed healthy and tasted great.

Coconut Cake Recipe

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I guess all good things do indeed come to an end, at least when it comes to depending on an excellent (albeit commercial) recipe for the coconut cake that Pepperidge Farms throws together.

I had enjoyed it off and on for over fifty years. Bought one the other day, and it is decidedly different--and inferior--to the previous cakes. Why change a good thing? (Ah, the cost, no doubt; sure can't be to make it a healthy choice!)

I don't expect much in the way of gourmet from Pepperidge Farms, but now I'll expect nothing at all.

Carb Control Wheat discontinued

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Pepperidge Farm - Carb Control Wheat discontinued

We (members of our senior social club) have been buying PF Carb Style Wheat for almost 20 years and now learn than PF has decided to discontinue this Carb Style Wheat (and 7 grain) bread.

What is wrong with them? This was one of the best sellers in the supermarket and now everyone is upset and mad about the discontinuance.

Have contacted PF but never received an answer.

We are wondering if anyone else is having the same problem with this bread? If so, contact PF and let them know of your displeasure with them for discontinuing this bread. Most of our members are pre-diabetics or diabetics and now they all have to try and search for another low carb bread to fit into their diets.

It is just awful for PF to discontinue this bread after so many, many years of good sales. I hope someone at PF gets to read this message and know that we want the Carb Style back on the shelves in our supermarket.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE CARB STYLE BREAD. BIG MISTAKE TO DISCONTINUE THIS PRODUCT.

So many ppl are upset !!!

Diabetics especially.. we want to eat sandwiches AGAIN !

Guest

Pepperidge Farm's didn't rememba.... It's loyal customers.

I’m still pissed this bread is gone. I can’t get over it. I haven’t eaten a sandwich in two years.

We use Pepperidge Farm Carb Style bread for a diabetic member of the family. As a Nurse Practitioner, I also recommend this for my patients. I have not been able to find it so I want to know if it is really discontinued by the company, or have my local stores have stopped carrying the Carb Style bread.

Guest

Really disappointed that they discontinued Carb Style bread. I loved this bread and didn't feel guilty about eating it. Bad move Pepperidge Farm!

Guest

I agree with you. I am of the younger generation and I purchased it for the last 15 years and at the military base.

I went the last three times to only find out it was no longer carried. Something isn't right with their decision.

Every time I would go to the commissary, it was on a few left because people would buy it up.

Guest

I used PF Carb Style bread for years - a great product. I'm sorry that it has been discontinued but Arnold makes a "Bakery Light" bread that is 6 grams of carbs/slice. For those, like myself, who are on a low carb diet, Arnold is a pretty good replacement.

Guest

I felt like I just saw this... seems yummy!

I think another brand might make it. Wish I had your area/region posted, because I hear Stroehmann's makes a lot of varieties (They're owned by Bimbo Bakeries, which also produces Entermanns- which is in the PA region.) Have a nice day!

Guest

I loved the whole wheat low carb bread. I am a diebetic and was so happy I could eat two slices with no worries. I just hope and pray they didn't discontinue because it was all a lie.

Guest

Agreed. In southern NJ p-farm carb style bread has pretty much disappeared. What a shame.

Pepperidge Farm - German Chocolate Layer Cake Review from North Little Rock, Arkansas

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Usually people are only highly motivated to write a review about something when they want to complain.

I want to defend the Peppridge Farms German Chocolate layer cake.

I hate it when people think that their opinion is the only one that matters.

Since I was a child , now 50, we had this sublime airy German chocolate layer cake on special occasions.

This cake is loved by everyone I know. It also comes with happy childhood memories in the box.

So here's the deal, if you don't like it don't buy it. But now every time I go to the store to buy one there aren't any.

Please can't you return them to the freezer section in Kroger stores. Our main grocery store in North Little Rock Arkansas.

Don't Purchase

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Honestly the reason why so many Americans are labeled as obese are because of disgusting products created by companies looking for a quick buck without care such as Pepperidge farm. Their products are full of artificial flavors and nothing is fresh, everything is created with alot of sugar and saturated fats. Nothing advertised is true and every package is made to try to entice the buyer to spending money to eat their obese death traps. Don't ever buy from companies that pray on the foolish like this one. REMEMBER TO READ THE BACK AND THE CONTENTS. CHANCES ARE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE INGREDIENT IS, IT'S BAD FOR YOU

Shrinking loaves

First the soft honey wheat bread, and now the rye bread--what's going on with the shrinkage? If the company has to cut costs, I'd prefer they give us fewer normal-sized slices instead of smaller ones.

The new slice size is so small that the cheese and lunchmeat that used to fit on them now have to be trimmed or they hang over the edges. What a tacky and obnoxious move by Pepperidge Farm. I have asked my main market to change brands, but since their bread selection is about two-thirds Pepperidge Farm, they're not likely to do so.

I'm not a Facebook user, so I can't post my complaint there. I encourage those of you who share my annoyance to let the company know on their Facebook page!

I, too, am distressed over the shrinking bread size. The cheese slices that I have been using for years with the Soft wheat bread now totally overlaps the bread slice.

Such a sneaky practice. I agree, better to have less slices than smaller sizes.

Pepperidge Farm - Sweet And Simple Cookies Review from Astoria, New York

I recently bought the raspberry apricot thumbprint cookies. These were an old favorite. They were practically inedible. The jam portion was so tough it almost couldn't be bitten, and the cookies were dry, hard, and just didn't taste good. I'm so disappointed and I don't think I'll buy them again. Even the shape is different. Common guys. These used to be shortbread. Now they're cardboard. Why mess with a good recipe!?!?
